BUG
![]() BUG 3D ModelHere you can see a 3D render of BUG with no texture. | ![]() BUG Parts CatalogThese are the pieces that make up BUG. I designed everything in Cinema 4D so I could work out all the problems first. | ![]() BUG 3D Bottom ViewHere you can see how the clasps and legs are attached. This brooch is large so it required two clasps to hold it in place. |

![]() BUG 3D Top ViewHere you can see how the abdomin and cephalothorax attach to the frame. I ended up using two large bolts instead of rivets, but I made them look like rivets. | ![]() BUG Brooch Bottom ViewThis is a shot of BUG from the bottom so you can see the nuts that hold the shells on and the two clasps that hold this brooch on some poor person's shirt. | ![]() BUG Brooch Front ViewThis shot makes BUG look dangerous. It looks like it's creeping along stalking its prey. |
![]() BUG Close UpHere you can see BUG in a less imposing (yet creepier) posture. The fangs don't help making it look friendly, either. | ![]() BUG Scary PoseI think the shadow really plays a big part in making this picture creepy. |
This brooch was made to emphasize a phobia. Obviously, arachnophobia is the theme here. I designed the parts in Cinema 4D and then hand crafted the parts out of copper using printouts made from the 3D model. I used Cinema 4D, Illustrator and my hands to make this project.
